RAPID CITY-Joyce I. Crago, age 92 of Rapid City, died Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at her sons residence in Rapid City under the care of Compassionate Care Hospice. Joyce Idell Barker was born April 10, 1918 at Arpan, South Dakota [near Newell] to Ernest Harold and Della Irene [Richards] Barker. She attended school near Arpan and graduated from high school. She married Richard Keith Crago in Montana. They lived in Wyoming where they ranched. Her husband, R. Keith, died and she and the family moved to Fruitdale, SD. She cooked at a restaurant and at the hospital in Belle Fourche. She and the family moved to Rapid City in 1967 where she worked at the Golden Living Center-Black Hills and at Clarkson Mountain-View for many years as a cook in the kitchen and she retired from Clarkson-Mountain View. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and their families. She truly enjoyed her family. She also enjoyed painting, sightseeing, and her pets. She is survived by her one son: Richard Ernest Crago of Rapid City, SD; one daughter: Annabelle Dawn [James] Neuzil of Rapid City; one daughter-in-law: Verla R. Crago of Rapid City; one brother: Chester Barker of Belle Fourche; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; two sons: Marvin and Myron; one daughter: Rosalie Moser; one grandson: Duane Neuzil; one sister: Vern Dietrich; two brothers: Lloyd Barker and Harold Barker. Visitation will be Saturday, January 7 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home, 2700 Jackson Boulevard, Rapid City. Her funeral service will be Saturday January 8 at 10:00 am at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home with Chaplain Neal Hughes of Compassionate Care Hospice officiating. Burial will follow at the Rose Hill Cemetery at Spearfish.
