Joyce Margaret Cummings Salway, 83 of Rapid City passed away on January 3, 2011 at New Underwood Good Samaritan Nursing Center. She was born on April 10, 1927 to LeRoy and MaryAnn Cummings. She was the eldest of 15 children. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers; LeRoy Jr, George, Randy, Bobby and sister MaryJane. She is survived by brothers; Melvin (RuthAnn) of Manderson, Arnold, Rapid City, Doug, North Dakota, Francis, Hot Springs, Delbert, Colorado, Ben, Rapid City, Pat Larvie, Porcupine, and her best friend and cousin-sister Virginia (Bud) Lawrence, Porcupine, sons; Orv Salway, California, Ron Salway, Illinois, Don Salway, Rapid City, Terry Salway, Rapid City, and one daughter, Barb Salway, Arizona, 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 10 AM at St Isaac Jogues Catholic Church in Rapid City with Rev. David Matzko S.J. presiding. Burial will follow at Pine Lawn Cemetery in Rapid City. Lunch will follow and be provided by her children and served in the Mother Butler Hall at St Isaac Jogues. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to a local Womans Shelter, Rapid Citys Girls Club, or the Cornerstone Rescue Mission.
