Judith "Judi" Elaine Marshall

RAPID CITY, SOUTH DAKOTA - Judith E. Marshall, 79, formerly of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away Friday, June 5, 2026, at The Village at Skyline Pines in Rapid City.

Judi was born on July 28, 1946, in Lakewood, Ohio, to Raymond D. and Ruth (Hammer) Bierman. The family moved to Phoenix where she attended school and graduated from West Phoenix High in 1964. She was an administrative secretary in the City of Phoenix Manager’s Office and retired after 34 years.

In 1989, Judi married Ben P. Marshall, an attorney with the City of Phoenix. Judi and Ben enjoyed spending time in Arizona’s White Mountains and loved their Yorkies, Sampson and Brutus. Ben passed away in 2003.

Judi was a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, where she enjoyed quilting with fellow volunteers. She also volunteered at the Assistance League of Phoenix Thrift Store. Judi cherished time spent with friends, whether shopping, crafting, taking walks in the neighborhood, or traveling together. Four years ago, Judi moved to Rapid City to be closer to family.

Judi was a wonderful person who loved the Lord, her family and friends, and all animals, especially her Yorkies. She had a special fondness for stars and angels and never passed up a piece of chocolate or an ice-cold Coke. She is now free from the effects of Alzheimer’s, and her family sincerely appreciates the loving care provided by the staff of The Village.

Grateful for having shared her life are her sister, Jo Ann Holcomb of Rapid City; nieces Teresa (Monty) Engel of Rapid City, Debbie (Bob) Toms of Daytona Beach, Florida, and Donna (Greg) Henkel of Riceville, Tennessee; nephew Don Holcomb of Rapid City; and many great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ben; brother, Ray, Jr.; brother-in-law, Larry Holcomb; and nephew, Larry Holcomb, Jr.

A celebration of life will be held at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home on Saturday, June 20, at 10:00 am. Services will also be held at a later date in Phoenix, with burial to follow at Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary & Cemetery.
