IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Judy
Zoller
February 12, 1935 – January 20, 2025
Julia (Judy) Elizabeth Rhoades Zoller passed away peacefully at the age of 89 on January 20, 2025.
Judy was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt (to several Zoller, Butterfield, and Rhoades children), cousin and friend to many.
She was born February 12, 1935, to Dorothy and F.E. (Slim) Rhoades in Rapid City SD. She had one sister Virginia Rhoades Butterfield, and one brother Cecil Rhoades. Judy was a devoted wife to her husband, Ralph R. Zoller, for 71 years. They were the first couple to be married at the new First Presbyterian Church building on October 31, 1953, in Rapid City and she worked in the church office for many years.
She had three children, Scott (Oriana Kuypers Zoller), Luanne (Geri Marz), and Todd, and two grandchildren, Jake Zoller (deceased) and Alex Zoller.
Judy had several interesting jobs starting with her teen years as a carhop at the Snow White Drive-In. After her children were older, she was a bookkeeper for an oil company and when Ralph and Judy owned the Garden Cottages Motel, she kept meticulous records.
Growing up, Judy rode an Indian motorcycle with her family and there are fantastic family photos and video of her on a motorcycle next to her sister Virginia and her brother Cecil. Ralph and Judy worked hard their entire lives to provide for their children but were also able to take great overseas trips.
Our mother always had a beautiful smile on her face as shown in these photos.
Judy was preceded in death by her sister, her brother, her husband Ralph in June 2024, and grandson Jake Zoller.
Judy's ashes will be placed with her husband's at the Black Hills National Cemetery. Our mother's wish was to not have a funeral service. In her memory, please smile knowing that she lived a wonderful life.
