Right after that, the family settled in Rapid City, where Julie continued her nursing career as the school nurse at Our Lady of Perpetual Help school; Dr. George Arnold's dermatology clinic; the Community Health Department; Rapid City Regional Home Health; and eventually, Hospice of the Hills. Julie's caring spirit was evident to everyone who knew her. She made such an impact on the lives of patients, family and friends as demonstrated by her accomplishments. She was the recipient of several awards including: Prestigious Health Care Provider "Spirit of Healing Award" and the South Dakota State "Health Care Professional of the Year" award.
