IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Karen
Pierce
October 10, 1948 – February 13, 2023
RAPID CITY- Karen Pierce passed away at the Monument Health Sturgis Senior Care Center at the age of 74. She grew up on the family farm near Cedar Butte, SD.
Karen was always known as a quiet and gentle soul. Due to her soft-spoken nature, it was hard to become acquainted with her. In a rare moment, you might catch a mischievous smile out of Karen.
Later in life, Karen was plagued with diabetes. She also suffered from having a few strokes. These led to her needing more care than her family could provide and her stay at the nursing home.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents: John and Thelma "Delma" Pierce; siblings: Robert (June) Pierce and Larry (Millie) Pierce; brother-in-law, Bill Steen; two nephews: Gary & Marlin Pierce; and a niece, Reaghan Graham.
She is survived by her only daughter, Michelle Pierce; grandsons: Hunter and Brandon; four sisters: Janet Pierce, Linda Steen, Kay (Dave) Graham, and Sharon Anziano; two brothers: Allen and Terry; sister in law, Karen Pierce; and many loved nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
A private burial will be held at Pine Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
May she rest in peace.
