RAPID CITYKenneth Wounded Face (E dsoo-wah-shkah-Xoo-Bah), Holy Horse, the son of Pansy Parshall and Joseph Wounded Face, Sr., was born in Minot, ND, on June 11, 1957. Kenny passed away at the age of 57 at the Rapid City Regional Hospital on Thursday, January 22, 2015. Kenny was a member of the "Zihdsga" (Prairie Chicken Clan) and a child of the "Met-si-no-ko" (Knife Clan). Kenny was raided in the Mandaree area. Kenny attended the Mandaree School in Mandaree, ND. After high school Kenny attended the Kicking Horse Job Corps in Pablo, MT and lived briefly in Arizona in the early 1980's. Kenny married Theresa Marks and from this union they had 2 children. Kendallyn and Jordan Wounded Face. Kenny joined the Marine Corps and was honorably discharged. Kenny njoyed drawing/crafts and listening to pow wow music. Kenny is survived by his four children; daughters, Kaylynn, of Mesa, Arizona, Edna Marie White Owl, of Minot, ND and Kendallyn Kendra Wounded Face, of Rapid City, SD; a son, Jordan Wounded Face, of Rapid City; sisters, Vickie Comes Out Bird, of California, Florine Bell (Buddy), of New Town, ND, Barg Pegg, of Mandan, ND, Billie Jo Wounded Face, of New Town, Muriel Kay Jackson, of Arizona, Evelyn Wounded Face, New Town and Joleen Fox, of Mandaree; brothers, Gordon Bird (JoAnne) of Brookings, SD, Claude Ten Bears, New Town, Tracy Wounded Face, Mandaree; many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Kenny also had an adopted family (his cousins) Valentine Finley, Jr. (Ann), of Bismarck, ND, Darryl Finley, of Mandaree, Vernita Finely, Parshall, ND, Patsy Packineau (Cletus), of Bismarck, Valorie Brady (Damon), of New Town and Vel Marie Yellow Wolf (Matthew) of Mandaree. Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, Pansy Parshall and Joseph Wounded Face, Sr.; brothers, Bobby Bird, Wilfred Bird, Russell Bird, Thomas (Johnny) Bird, Tex Wounded Face, JoeBill Wounded Face and Joe Wounded Face, Jr. Visitation will be from 5:00 -10:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at the Mother Butler Center. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 28, at the Mother Butler Center. Interment will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.
