Kevin J. Young Eagle, Sr., 44, of Rapid City, died on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at the Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City.

Kevin was born on May 11, 1976 in Ft Yates, ND to Clifford Romance Wise Spirit and Vera Young Eagle. Kevin grew up in Ft Yates until the family moved to Trenton, ND. Kevin graduated from the Flandreau Indian School and eventually went to school to become a smoke jumper for the U.S. Forest Service, serving in Montana and Idaho. Most recently, he worked at the Prairie Nights Casino in Ft Yates.

Kevin was a devoted Patriots fan and enjoyed playing basketball.

He is survived by his children: Kevin J. Young Eagle, Jr and Raisa Young Eagle, both of Grand Forks, ND, his Mother, Vera Richards, his siblings: Robin Martin, Rapid City, William Martin, Bismarck and Evangeline Cooper, Trenton, ND.

He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.

A visitation will be held at Woyatan Lutheran Church on Monday, August 3, 2020 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at Woyaton Lutheran Church in Rapid City.

Cremation will follow the service.
