Kim Arthur Kerns was born in Kadoka, SD on August 20, 1957. He married Lori Ann Giesinger in Rapid City, SD on September 1, 1979 at Chapel Of The Hills. Together they raised two sons, Jacob and Joseph.

Kim and Lori had a beautiful life together, riding on his beloved motorcycles, travelling, camping and raising their sons to strong, smart men. Nascar and M&M's were Kims guilty pleasure. Kim loved to sing and play guitar and played whenever he was able to and passed on his love for music and guitar playing knowledge to Jacob and Joey.

Kim spent his life working hard as a Master Plumber and teaching the great values that were instilled to him into his own family. Kim's family describes him as amazing, witty, jokeful, smart and talented.

Kim met his brothers Steve and Mike, father Daryl and his beloved Lori in Heaven on July 3, 2020. Kim passed away comfortably in Hospice House of Rapid City after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Kim is survived by his sons, Jacob (Mona), Joseph (Tiana), mother Linda, siblings Brenda Polk, Michele (Jim) McNeely, Connie (Kelly) Kralicek, Lori Nielsen, Bart Kerns, and John (Carrie) Kerns, grandchildren Patience (Jared) Byrge, Brianna Kerns, Madisyn Kerns, Karren Kerns, and Kaia Kerns. and great grandson Wesson Byrge, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, and his beloved dog Junior.

Family requests that donations be made in Kim's name to Hospice House of Rapid City or to the American Cancer Society.

Services will be held in Rapid City, SD at 2pm on August 15, 2020 at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home.
