Kimberly Rae Conway (Magnuson) joined the angels on September 9, 2022 at 64 years old in Rapid City, SD. She was born on April 14, 1958 in Philip, SD, to Emil and Rita Magnuson. She was raised in Rapid City, where she met the love of her life, Frank Conway. They were married on January 27, 1978. Together they built a life full of love and laughter, and were blessed with two children, Nicholas and Lacy.

Nothing gave her more joy than her four grandchildren, Paisly, Novella, Henry and Jude. She spent the past 10 years living her best life as grandma. She loved watching Paisly dance, taking Novella Joy shopping, cheering on Henry Bear during baseball games, and rocking and snuggling her little Jude Bug with a cup of hot cocoa. Together they enjoyed spend-overs and countless adventures, always parting with the words "Grandma loves you". They will forever be loved and protected by their "grandma guardian angel."

Kimberly found immense happiness and fulfillment in her life's work as a cosmetologist. Throughout her career she forged strong bonds with her clients, many of whom became life-long friends. Several "clients" have commented that she counseled them through the toughest moments of their lives, while all they paid her for was a haircut.

She treasured the small moments in life, creating fun and excitement with each walk, lunch, cup of coffee, or drive through the hills, which often ended with her trying her luck in Deadwood (and she was often very lucky!). She loved nature and being outdoors. She gardened, walked, hiked, and biked whenever she could. Most recently she was sporting an e-bike, which she used to tear up the bike path and Mickelson Trail.

Kimberly was a bright light in the lives of everyone who had the privilege to know her. She had a radiant personality, was the life of the party, and the queen of conversation. She leaves an irreparable hole in all of our hearts. The family encourages everyone who loved her to honor her legacy by living life to its fullest and celebrating the small moments.

Our beloved Kimberly shared her life and love with her husband, Frank; two children Nicholas Conway (Chelsea) and Lacy Kading (Benjamin); grandchildren Paisly, Novella, Henry and Jude;  siblings Sherry Kleinschmidt (Dale), Sonny Magnuson (Rosa) and Patsy Aldridge; as well as countless others who will miss her dearly. She is greeted in heaven by her parents, Emil and Rita Magnuson and parents-in-law, Robert and Helen Conway.

Celebration of Life will occur at Calvary Lutheran Church on Thursday, September 15, 2022, at 10:30 am.

In lieu of flowers, the family has chosen to add her beauty to the Rapid City parks, where a memorial has been established in her honor.
