Kyler Andrew Smith, 1 day old infant, passed away at Sanford Health Care in Sioux Falls on Monday, November 29, 2010. Survivors include his parents, Kevin and Mellissa Smith, Rapid City; a brother, Damian Curtis Blake-Smith, Rapid City; paternal grandmother, Chris Smith, Black Hawk; paternal grandfather and step-grandmother, Curtis and Lana Smith, Rapid City; maternal grandmother, Linda Andersen, Viborg; and great-grandparents Darel and Arlys Smith, Mansfield, SD ; and several aunts and uncles: Leland and Sandy Andersen and their children Seth, Wyatte, Shane, and Brooklyn; Mike and husband Chad Boomgarden and their children Ashley and Emmit; J.J. and husband Randy Straatmeyer and their children Nicole and Ashley; Leslie and Jason Sherman and their children Brodee, Gradee, and Kobee; and Bill Andersen with special friend Candace; Jim Andersen; John Andersen; Vaughn and Ginger Smith and their children Jordan, Ariel, Grace, and Gavin; Todd and Tessa Grabow and their children Tia, Tate, and Tanner; Scott Grabow; Melissa Clemens; and Jodi and Beau Jennings. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Gary Andersen and step-grandfather Daryl Grabow. Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, Dec., 4, at Our Lady of the Black Hills Catholic Church in Piedmont with Rev. Mark McCormick presiding. Burial will follow in Mt. View Cemetery in Rapid City.
