Obituary

RAPID CITY- LaDonna Marie Niemann, 59, died Thursday, Nov. 24. 2016 at Rapid City Regional Hospital Auxiliary Hospice House.


LaDonna was born on July 5, 1957 in Rapid City to Bill and Evelyn (Vogel) Bettels. She grew up in Rapid City and Sioux Falls, graduating from Rapid City Stevens High School. LaDonna went to Nettleton College in Sioux Falls for paralegal studies.


She did two years as a legal assistant to John Fitzgerald and then worked 28 years for the Public Defender's Office in Rapid City retiring in June, 2016.


She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Mary Jackson.


LaDonna is survived by the love of her life, Ross Niemann; Zachary Niemann; two sisters: Carolyn (Jim) Lowe, Sioux Falls; Trish (Phil) Jackson, Rapid City; nieces and nephews: Rob Lowe, Shelli Goeman, Mandy Hall, Melissa Knight, Erin Grote and Sean Jackson; her boys: Buddy and Max; and many great nephews and nieces.


Visitation will be from 5:00 -7:00 p.m. on Thursday, Dec 1, 2016 at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home with a Christian Wake Service at 7:00 p.m.


Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, Dec 2, 2016 at Blessed Sacrament Church with Rev. Brian Lane officiating.


Private burial will be held.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the Humane Society of the Black Hills.
