Larry G. Cole, 83, Rapid City, SD, passed away, Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Monument Health Hospice House.

Larry was born in New Underwood, SD on September 1, 1941, to Herb and Helen (Satree) Cole. Larry grew up in Presho South Dakota and graduated from Presho High School.

Larry married Alice Comp in 1961, and they were married for sixty wonderful years.  Alice passed in 2021. To this union were born five children.

They spent the early years of their marriage on the Cole Family Farm northwest of Presho, where they farmed and raised sheep. Early in the 1970's the family moved to Kennebec to farm, and he also worked at Cendak Builders.

In early 1983, the family made a big move to Rapid City, SD. Larry tried many trades to include selling mobile homes, lumber sales and estimator. He left sales to do maintenance at St. Therese Church where he found his true passion working with the parishioners and the church staff. After retiring from the church, he worked part time at Black Hills Car Auction driving cars. Due to health reasons, he completely retired in March of 2025.

Larry loved aviation and obtained his private pilot license. He enjoyed all aspects of farming. He loved old country and polka music. He played the piano, trumpet, and accordion. He mostly played music by ear with very few lessons.  One of his and Alice's past times was driving the countryside and exploring. Larry loved to converse with everyone and never met a stranger.  After Alice's death he found a special friend Lynn Loomer to continue with many new adventures.

He is proceeded in death by his parents, wife, son Mike and brothers Bobby and Merle.

He is survived and loved by many to include daughters Judy (Dave) Blair of Rapid City and Crystal Cole-Eaton of Vale SD. Sons, Jim Cole and David (Tammy) Cole of Presho SD and daughter in-law Donna Cole and son in-law Brett Eaton.  Sister Betty Anderson (Duane) of Chandler AZ.  He had nine grandchildren, Jeremy, Jessica, Kimberly, Elizabeth, Dustin, Mandy, Joseph, Kallie and honorary grandchild Cory Comp and fourteen great grandchildren. And special friend Lynn Loomer.

Friends and family are invited to a Vigil Service at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at St. Therese the Little Flower Catholic Church.  Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m.  A Christian Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 16.  Burial will follow at 3:30 p.m. at Holy Angels Cemetery in Presho, SD.
