Rapid City – Laura Mae Fisher, 96, died Sunday, August 31, 2025 at Good Samaritan Society St. Martin Village in Rapid City, SD.
A Memorial Burial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, September 22, 2025 at Black Hills National Cemetery with Richard "Dick" Kiefer presiding. Relatives and friends who want to be in the procession to the cemetery should be at the funeral home by 10:00 am.
Laura Mae Koch was born June 28, 1929 at Rapid City, SD to Waldo W. and Cecile L. (Matthies) Koch. She was raised and attended 1st through 8th grade school in Box Elder, SD and then attending Rapid City High School. She worked at Woolworths and Ben Franklin in Rapid City.
She married Earl V. Fisher in 1947 in Belle Fourche, SD and resided in Rapid City.
Laura enjoyed bowling, bingo, horse racing, and spending time with her family and friends.
She was a past member of the Rapid City D.O.E.'s and South Dakota Women's Bowling Association.
Survivors include one son: Earl V. "Mike" Fisher Jr.; three daughters: Vicky (Steve) Harder, Carol J. Engel, and DeLaurie J. Fisher; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Laura was preceded in death by her parents, husband Earl in 2019, and one sister: Mildred Shovell.
Memorial cards may be sent to the funeral home address and will be forwarded to the family.
