Laura Agnes Vifquain, 90, of Oscoda, MI, and formerly of Rapid City, passed away on Monday, May 18, 2015, at Iosco County Medical Care Facility in Tawas, MI. She was born on June 2, 1924 in Phillip, SD to the late Frank and Gertrude O'Dea (nee Babcock). Laura worked and retired as a registered nurse in the pediatrics unit at Rapid City Regional Hospital. She enjoyed going to garage sales and antique stores, crocheting and most importantly, spending time with her family and friends. Laura is survived by her son, Ed Vifquain of Rapid City, SD and daughter, Susie Vifquain of Oscoda, MI; sister, Joanne Oltmanns of Dickinson, ND; grandchildren, Dirk Vifquain, Matt (Saboin) Vifquain, David (Annmarie) Wetsel, Scott (Laura Leigh) Wetsel, Nikki Wetsel, Coty (Kourtnee) Nolff, and Erika (Chris) Pittman and great-grandchildren, Zoe Wetsel, Taylor Wetsel, Michael Wetsel, Lillian Nolff, Logan Pittman, Raven Pittman, Danny Vifquain, Oakley Vifquain and Rhys Vifquain. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Vifquain; sisters, Annette Votroubek and Mae Crocker and brothers, John O'Dea, Patrick O'Dea and Mike O'Dea. A visitation service will be held on Friday, May 22, from 4pm-8pm at Buresh Funeral Home in Oscoda, MI. Visitation will also be held at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 26, from 6 pm - 7 pm; with a 7 pm Christian wake service. A Christian funeral mass will be offered on Wednesday, May 27, at 10:00 am, at Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help with Father Ed Vanorny presiding. Interment will be at 12:30 pm in Black Hills National Cemetery.
