RAPID CITY- LaVonne Marie Geitz, 85, died at Rapid City Regional Hospital Auxiliary Hospice House Sunday, October 7, 2012. She was born October 14, 1926 at Viborg, South Dakota, the daughter of Otto and Hazel (Christensen) Taft. She graduated from high school in Viborg and then moved to Rapid City. She married Victor Geitz on October, 31, 1947 in Rapid City. She was employed with several Rapid City business's including the Rapid City Civic Center. She was a longtime member of South Canyon Lutheran Church. LaVonne was a loving mother, grandmother, and daughter. Survivors include two sons, Lynn Geitz and his wife Mary; Randy Geitz, Black Hawk; three grandchildren: June, Travis, and Tyler; and a great grandson, Mayson. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Victor. Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 12, at South Canyon Lutheran Church with Rev. Bruce Thalacker officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Rapid City. A memorial has been established.
