RAPID CITY - Lawrence John "Larry" Parquet, 74, died Friday, August 18,2023

Larry was born on March 20, 1949 to Alex John Parquet and Veronica Marie (Steichen) Parquet in Huntington Beach, California.

He married Thea Wetovic and together they grew their family to include two Children; Rachel and John.  He worked several careers including farming, the newspaper business and running a photography store. For the last 18 years, he worked as a carpet and flooring installer.

Larry loved to hunt and enjoyed the outdoors.  There were fond memories of family camping trips to Custer State Park.  He was also known to be a skilled cook.

Faith was important to Larry and he was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church in Rapid City.  He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.

He was dearly loved and will not soon be forgotten.

He is survived by his wife, Thea Parquet, son, John Michael Parquet, sister, Denise Cumberlidge, brother David Parquet (Rosalinda),  nieces; Jennifer, Veronica, Ann Marie and Natasha, as well as his great-nephew, Jovin as well as other loving family members and friends.

Larry was preceded in death by his daughter, Rachel Parquet Allen and his sister, Diane Parquet Westlake.

Friends and family are invited to a Vigil Service on Monday, August 28, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.  Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m.  A Christian Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 29 at 10:00 a.m.

Burial will be at St. Wilfrid Catholic Cemetery in Woonsocket, South Dakota on Wednesday, August 30 at 1:00 p.m.
