RAPID CITY | Leone 'Hokie' Anderson passed away at his home on August 21 2017.

Hokie was born July 16, 1924, in Big Bend, SD, to Ellert and Matilda Anderson. He married the love of his life, Irene Harvey on Nov. 1, 1941 and they built a life together for the next 63 years. On Oct. 17, 1942, they were blessed with their only child, Daniel L. Anderson who was killed Aug. 25, 1968, in Vietnam. Hokie joined the Army on March 23, 1943.

Hokie was well known for buying and selling cattle, real estate and antiques.

He was preceded in death by his wife, son, his parents and five brothers.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 24, at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 25, at the funeral home.

Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery with full military honors rendered by the Rushmore VFW Post 1273 and the South Dakota Army National Guard.
