Obituary

Lewis W. Tracy, 87, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012. Lewis was born Dec. 15, 1924, to Silas and LuLu Tracy in Tripoli, WI. He joined the U.S. Navy during WWII and was honorably discharged in 1946. He then began a career in the masonry and construction business. In 1950, he married Eleanor Fetsch, a love that lasted until her death in 2008. For many years he was the owner and operator of Tracy Masonry, Y-Cart Acoustical and Tracy Building Center. He was an avid supporter of sports, especially baseball and golf. He was a charter member of the local civil air patrol. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trap shooting. Lewis and Eleanor retired to Sun City, AZ, and enjoyed many years of sunshine, traveling, and golf. He is survived by four children, Sheri Reindl, Kansas City, Loran (Boni) Tracy, Rapid City, Vickie (Tim) Mollette, Billings, MT, and Bette (Dino) Kazantzis, West Milford, NJ; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and his sister, Edith Goss, Chiefland, FL. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor, and a granddaughter, Amy Tracy. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Ewing officiating. Visitation will be one hour before services. Interment with Military Honors provided by the Rushmore VFW Post 1273 and the South Dakota National Guard will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Rapid City.
