IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lilah Jane
Edwards
March 5, 2012 – February 9, 2020
Lilah Jane Edwards passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of February 9th, 2020 at her home in Rapid City. Lilah was born on March 5th, 2012 in Lone Tree, Colorado and blessed our family with her presence from the moment she was born.
Lilah was survived by her parents, Scott & Melissa Edwards; her brother Jackson; paternal grandparents, Jack and Bonnie Edwards; maternal grandparents Richard Heist and Karen Hoene. Her family consisted of Julie Edwards and Scot Singpiel, Doug Edwards, Ruth Schemmel, Richard and Angel Heist and family, Chris and Jodi Heist and family and countless friends and extended family.
Lilah also leaves behind her very special dog, Penny; two cats, Annabelle and Albert who found sanctuary in her bedroom from her puppy.
Lilah loved life and really enjoyed helping other people. She loved her brother immensely and enjoyed showing him how to read books and play with her toys. She especially took special care of Jackson at school and walked him to class everyday and showed him the ways around kindergarten.
Lilah loved to do so many things, but especially loved camping, riding her bike and looking for rocks and bugs. She often would be found on her knees looking for treasures in the ground, creeks or wherever she may have been at the time. She was most happy exploring and getting dirty. Her most favorite places were Hart Ranch, Custer State Park and Angostura reservoir, where she would be found with her friend finding toads. She recently started playing piano and could be found practicing on her own time. She loved to swim and in the summer would gravitate to the pool where she would spend time swimming and playing games with Jackson.
Lilah was one month away from her 8th birthday and was able to experience so many things and create so many memories in the time she was with us, that we are thankful that we had as much time with her as we did. She leaves us with many fond memories and a giant hole in our hearts. We believe that she has been reunited with family in Heaven that she never met and is loved and safe.
A celebration of her life will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, Feb. 15, at Rimrock Church in Johnson Siding.
