Linda Bradley
Allen
Dec 31, 1939 — Jul 19, 2026
Rapid City
Linda Kerstine Bradley Allen passed from this life on Sunday, 19 July 2026.
She was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming December 31, 1939, to Jack and Lola Bradley. She grew up in Osage and Newcastle, Wyoming. She graduated high school in 1958, valedictorian. She earned her bachelor's degree at the University of Wy. She married Verne Kyle Allen while in college and had three children and graduated with honors.
She and Verne divorced in 1975, and she returned to home to live in the Black Hills. She was a teacher and counselor and assistant director at the SD School of Nursing. She returned to college and earned her master’s degree, graduating cum laude with recognition from the honor society Phi Delta Kappa. During this time she was also a member of Leadership Rapid City. After leaving the School of Nursing, she worked for NASA at SD School of Mines and Technology.
She met the love of her life; Jerry Allen and they spent 46 beautiful years together. Linda loved to sing, as a member of Sweet Adeline’s, the Dakota Choral, and the Village Voices. She loved all music and was a supporter of The Black Hills Symphony, and Black Hills Chamber Music. She rarely missed a performance.
Linda was an artist, creating pottery, painting, and designing jewelry. She loved to dance and belonged to the 39 Dance Club. Linda was a champion diver, and snow skier, skiing the Black Hills, the Rockies, and the Alps. She and Jerry loved to travel and had many great adventures globetrotting with their friends.
Most importantly Linda was a person who was loved by all that knew her. Her heart was always open, and her smile could make everyone feel that love. The proof of that is the sincerity with which her friends loved and respected her. Her passing will leave an emptiness to all that knew her.
She is once again reunited with her family: husband and best friend, Jerry Allen, her sister Lolly Bradley Martin, her sons, Verne and Mitchell and her parents, Jack and Lola Bradley. Linda is survived by her brother, Jack Bradley of Casper Wyoming, brother-in-law, Bob Martin of Newcastle, daughter Elizabeth (Lisa) Allen, two stepdaughters Megan Allen Stone and Andrea Allen Gonzales and husband Patrick, one stepson Mark Allen and four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She will put to her final rest alongside Jerry at the National Cemetery in Sturgis.
