Linda Parrott, 62, of Rapid City passed away March 17 at Monument Health Rapid City Hospital.
Services will be held at First Congregational/UCC Church on March 29, 2025, at 11 a.m. Visitation will be at 10 a.m, and a light lunch will be provided at noon at the church.
Linda was born in Rapid City to Charles and Lynnell (Johnson) Parrott on May 2, 1962. She attended schools in Rapid City, including the Little Red Schoolhouse and Kibben Kuster. She completed the Rapid City Public School special ed program in 1980 and then joined the programs offered by Black Hills Works, where she worked on contracts at Ellsworth Air Base's Bandit Inn, electronic assembly contracts, and tourism mailing assembly for South Dakota Tourism. She lived in BHW group homes for over 25 years, including 22 years at the Wisconsin apartments.
Linda was raised in a family and community that embraced her in all activities. Linda enjoyed traveling with friends and family, dancing and singing, swimming, bowling, and especially camping at Sheridan Lake. She is survived by her mother, Lynnell Parrott, siblings Lori and David Parrott, and nieces and nephew Sara Myers, Ryen Ormesher, Eryn Ormesher, and Charlie Parrott. Her legacy of kindness, joy, and unfailing loyalty will be carried forward by those who loved her.
Linda's association with Black Hills Works was a cornerstone of her life. She built deep friendships with the persons served at Black Hills works and with the staff who advocated for her every day.
Interment will be conducted privately at Mountain View cemetery. Memorial contributions in Linda's name can be directed to the Black Hills Works Foundation.
