Linda
Peters
Apr 14, 1943 — Jul 6, 2026
Thursday
Blessed Sacrament Church
Starts at 10:00 am (Mountain time)
Linda Ann (Moore) Peters was born in Rapid City, April 14, 1943, to George and Faye (Hughes) Moore. She passed away peacefully after a brief illness on July 6, 2026.
Linda graduated from Rapid City High School in 1961, and from the University of Wyoming. She later earned a master's degree from Arizona State University.
Linda worked at an art gallery in Lakewood, CO, before returning to Rapid City to start her own business. She opened L.A. Moore Galleries, a custom picture framing business, in her home. Linda developed a signature framing style, which she used for countless Black Hills creations and numerous petit point pictures made by her mother.
When she retired, Linda enjoyed spending more time with her folks, sister, Jean, and other friends. She attended weekly Mass at Blessed Sacrament, and after church liked going to breakfast with her brother, Jack, and friends. She also enjoyed going to Deadwood, notably with special aunt, Lynette Hughes.
In recent years, Linda lived at Peaceful Pines Senior Living. We are grateful for the caregivers and staff, past and present.
Linda is survived by niece, Kelly Moore, Denver; nephew, Jeff (Michelle) Moore, Iowa City, IA; great-niece, Emily, Duluth, MN; great-nephew, Ryan, Iowa City; and special cousin, Connie (Hughes) Day, Chandler, AZ, and Rapid City.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Jean; brother, Jack; and sister-in-law, Jackie.
A Christian Funeral Mass will be offered at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Blessed Sacrament Church. A private family burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
To honor Linda, we invite you to give to Black Hills Works, PO Box 2104, City 57709 or online at https://www.blackhillsworks.org/get-involved/donate/
