Obituary

Lloyd Fred Vroman, age 66 of Box Elder, SD and formerly of Pound, WI passed away on October 16, 2015 at Golden Living Center - Prairie Hills nursing home. He was born on April 30, 1949 in Marinette, WI to Basil and Elaine (Kempke) Vroman. He married the love of his life Felisa Cabanero on March 16, 1970 at Clark AFB Philippines and has one son Marino Vroman. Lloyd and Felisa spent 45 wonderful years together. Growing up on the family farm in Wisconsin Lloyd loved to hunt, fish, process maple syrup, sledding and ice skating. He was a member of FFA and Brazeau Black Hawks 4-H in his youth. He graduated from Coleman high school in 1967. He joined the United States Air Force and had a distinguished 20 year career. He was stationed at Ellsworth SD, Clark Philippines, KI Sawyer MI, Spokane WA, Mildenhall England, and returned to Ellsworth SD, where he retired. He was proud to serve his country and to follow in his father Basil's military footsteps. Basil served in the 3rd armor division WWII. Lloyd loved his family and put them above all things. He was proud of his grandchildren (Seth Vroman and Morgan Vroman) and enjoyed keeping them during the summers in Sandy Valley, NV where Lloyd and Felisa lived for many years after his military retirement. He enjoyed many activities including attending his grandchildren's softball and football games. Family hunting and fishing trips were always a great time for Grandpa Lloyd and the grandkids. Lloyd is survived by his wife Felisa Vroman, Box Elder, SD; son Marino (Marcel) Vroman, Rapid city, SD; sister Edith (Don) Herzog Pound, WI; grandchildren, Seth (Erika Weeks) Vroman, Box Elder, SD; and Morgan Vroman, Rapid City, SD; great grandchildren (Seth-Erika) Bentley Vroman, Kolton Weeks; (Morgan) Xayne Vroman. Nephew Chad Herzog, Pound WI; nieces Misty Herzog, Pulaski, WI; Dusty (Herzog) White, DePere, WI; great grandniece (Chad) Kimberly Rose. He was preceded in death by his parents Basil and Elaine Vroman. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 pm Thursday, October 22 at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home, 2700 Jackson Boulevard. Graveside services will be 1:00 pm Friday October 23 at Black Hills National Cemetery with Col. Chief Chaplain [Ret.] Herb B. Cleveland officiating. There will be full military honors provided by the Rushmore VFW Post #1273 and Ellsworth AFB Honor Guard.
