Lois Jean Wolfe (88) peacefully passed away on November 26, 2024 at Fountain Springs Healthcare Center. Lois was born August 1, 1936 in Mitchell, South Dakota, the youngest child of Chris and Edna Eggert. She attended school in Artesian, South Dakota and graduated from Mitchell High School in 1954. Lois completed her studies to become a registered nurse in 1957 from Methodist Hospital in Mitchell and worked there for two years.

Happy to have shared her life for 67 years of marriage is Melvin (Stub) Wolfe. They married June 22, 1957 and moved to Rapid City, South Dakota in 1959. She worked as a registered nurse at Bennett Clarkson Hospital for two years and Rapid City Medical Center for 40 years.

Lois spent as much time as possible with her family members and visiting friends. She enjoyed playing cards and anything to do with crafts or sewing. She could always be found with a project that kept her hands busy; crocheting, knitting, quilting, embroidering or cross stitching. Lois loved playing golf and continued doing so three times a week until she was 86.

Survivors include her husband, Melvin Wolfe of Rapid City, SD; daughters Janele (Floyd) Abbott of San Diego, CA, Jeanine (Richard) Corcoran of Rapid City, SD; grandchildren Jeremy Corcoran, Amanda (Skyler) Hayes, AJ (Caitlyn) Burns; great-grandchildren Eisen Hayes and Harrow Hayes.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Chris and Edna Eggert and siblings Clara (Sam) Brakke, Alma (William) Gannon, Ida (Robert) Thompson and Leonard Eggert.

There will be a private family service and Lois's final resting place will be at Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, SD.
