March 6, 1945 – May 24, 2026
RAPID CITY - Loren Eugene Doyle passed away Sunday, May 24, 2026, at the Fort Meade, VA Health Care, at the age of 81.
Loren was born in Rapid City, SD, on March 6, 1945, to Daniel and Auguste Doyle joining a brother Arnold and sister Joyce. He attended school at St. John’s Elementary, North Junior High and Rapid City High School.
After graduating, Loren began a career in concrete construction with Stanley Johnson Concrete. He was then drafted to serve the Army for the Vietnam War. While Loren was stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado, he met the love of his life in Donna Hutson. They were soon married, a relationship that lasted nearly 56 years. They have one son David. Upon his return from the Army, Loren went back to work for Stanley Johnson.
In 1980, Loren and Donna started Loren Doyle Concrete. They built a successful business serving many satisfied customers until retiring in 2007. Retirement allowed him to enjoy traveling and spending many summer days at the Elks Golf Course.
Throughout his life, Loren enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and great friends. A natural athlete, he enjoyed watching, and especially playing many sports from his school days through participating in the Senior Olympics.
Loren was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.
He is survived by his wife Donna; son David (Lisa); two granddaughters, Madison and Macy Doyle; several nieces and nephews and his sister-in-law, Diane Hutson.
