Rapid City – Loretta Wiehl, 87, died Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at the Village at Skyline Pines in Rapid City.

Loretta Jeanean Boland was born March 2, 1938 in Rapid City, SD to Edward and Victoria (Harrison) Boland. She grew to adulthood in Rapid City and attended and graduated from the Rapid City Catholic School system in 1956.

She married Bernard Wiehl on June 16, 1956 at the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception in Rapid City. They were blessed with three children: Paul in 1957, Victoria in 1960, and Chris in 1960.

They lived in Rapid City for a year before they moved to the Wiehl Ranch where they raised cattle and ranched. They enjoyed dancing. They were members of Our Lady of the Black Hills Catholic Church in Piedmont.

Survivors include two sons: Paul (Shirley) Wiehl of Rapid City and Chris Wiehl of Rapid City; and three grandchildren: Jessica Pickar, Kristina Bergeron, and Austin Wiehl.

Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bernard in 2024, daughter Victoria, one sister, and four brothers.

Memorial Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am Friday, December 19, 2025 at Our Lady of the Black Hills Catholic Church in Piedmont and Burial Service will be 1:00 pm at the Piedmont Cemetery.
