Obituary

Lorie Lyn Gardner, 58, of Rapid City passed away January 23rd, at Monument Health.

Lorie was born August 30th, 1963, at Newark Wayne community hospital she graduated June of 1981 from North Rose Wolcott High School. She kept busy working at Glider oil, Connelly's Cove, MOTTS, ASI, Ellsworth Air Force Base BX, and Wal-Mart. But most importantly she enjoyed being Shayla's Mom and Bette's daughter. When she was in grade school she won the Apple Harvest Queen Festival award, she loved after school activities such as roller skating at Wolcott Elementary school on the gymnasium floor with Ron. Her high school years were filled with going to concerts with her friends. Lorie also took ballet lessons for several years and could still do the poses. She loved State Fairs, rides, and all the attractions which continued into her later years.

Lorie met and married John W. Garnder on December 2nd, of 1995 and their daughter Shayla was born.

She enjoyed cooking and a couple family favorites are tuna noodle casserole and cheeseburger soup, however her tuna noodle secret was chicken instead of tuna. Lorie collected recipe books and magazines to share with her mom.

She loved getting the family together for special occasions, holidays, and birthdays the evening would include playing poker.

Lorie is survived by husband; John Gardner, daughter; Shayla Gardner, brother; Ron (Liz) Countryman, Nephew; Patrick (Jen) Bierle, niece; Tegan (Dom) Schooler, father-in-law; Jack (Donna) Gardner, sisters-in-law; Belinda (Mark) Viola, Charity Gardner, nephew; Michael Viola, great aunt; Midge DeMarco,

Lorie was preceded in death by her father; Richard Countryman, stepfather; Stan Doyle, Mother; Bette Doyle, uncles; Benjamin (Tink) Sears, Roberts Sears, Pete Sears, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Memorial Services will be at 2:00 P.M on Saturday, February 5th, 2022, at First Wesleyan Church in Rapid City with Pastor Steve Selfridge.
