Lorna M. Erickson, 80, formerly of Rapid City, died Sunday, October 15, 2017 in Pierre.

She was born on November 26, 1936 in Huron to Louie and Leona (Kutzler) Meyer. Lorna grew up in Huron and graduated from Huron High School.

She married Leonard Erickson on August 2, 1957 in Huron. The family lived in Pierre and Yankton before moving to Rapid City in 1965. Lorna worked as a loan officer for American State Bank prior to her retirement.

The family camped almost every weekend and Lorna and Leonard both enjoyed playing cards and especially riding their motorcycles. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, canning, cooking and baking.

Her children and grandchildren will always remember her for "just being there for them". She is survived by her husband, Leonard, Pierre, her son, Larry Erickson, Pierre, three daughters; Lori Jacquot, Onida, Lisa Chrobak, Rapid City and Lana Enderby, Laurel, MT, nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Linda Meyer Ulvestad.

A Celebration of Life Memorial service will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Rapid City.

A memorial has been established by the family.

Inurnment of her ashes will be at Black Hills National Cemetery at a future date. Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home is hosting her online guest register at www.osheimschmidt.com.
