RAPID CITY - Lorraine M. Sietsema died Thursday, May 15 at Rapid City Regional Hospital. Lorraine was bom in Rochester, MN, October 20, 1917 to August F. and Lottie Myrle (Barnes) Briese. Lorraine married Robert Sietsema of Worthington, MN, on January 1, 1940 and they resided in Rochester until moving to Rapid City in 1962. After Bob's death in 1965, Lorraine accepted a job offer at Kralls China and Gifts store. Later she was employed for many years as a receptionist at William's Surgical Clinic where many enduring friendships were formed. Lorraine's gentle and nurturing spirit was evident in her life. She loved to laugh with friends over lunch or a cup of coffee. Her door was always open. She was overjoyed when grandchildren came along; two grandsons in Denver and five granddaughters in Rapid City. She stayed active in their lives and celebrated every milestone. She was preceded in death by her husband Bob, son Gregg; brothers Frank and Charles Briese and sister Dacia Briese, all of Rochester, Minnesota. Lorraine is survived by sons Jim Sietsema, Aurora, CO and Larry (Linda) Sietsema, Rapid City, grandchildren, Daniel Sietsema of Aurora and Nick Sietsema of Colorado Springs; Amber Genova, Lyons, CO, April Brunsch, and Aimee Lester both of Rapid City, Anna Edwards, Highlands Ranch, CO and Abbie Sietsema, Denver; nine great-grandchildren, Sofia, Kalena, Logan, Zach, Jack, Lauren, Lawson, Charlie and Owen. A memorial has been established to the Black Hills Workshop. Memorial services will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday, May 21, at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home, with the Rev. Steve Balsley officiating.
