Lyda Mae Efland, 84, died Friday, April 2, 2010, at her home in Rapid City. She was born May 15, 1925 in Plankinton to George and Fenza (Bilyue) Keough. Her family relocated to Rapid City where she attended the Rapid City public schools and met her husband of 44 years, Arthur,whom she married on June 17, 1944 in Seattle, Wash. Survivors include two sons; Richard A. and his wife Tommi of Valley Center, California and David C. and his wife Bonnie of Sioux Falls; four grandchildren; Kris Efland, Palo Alto, California, Aaron Efland, Houston, Texas, Nicole Reynoso, Sioux Falls and Grant Efland, Sioux Falls; 4 great grandchildren; two Sisters; Opal Annundi, St. Helens, Oregon and Marion Cram, Snohomish, Washington; one brother, George Keough, Snohomish and dearest longtime friends; Ellen Dale Stall of Piedmont and Karen Haynes of Chamberlain. She was preceded by her husband, Arthur, infant twin girls, Paula and Paulette and a sister, Faye Collins. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. on Monday, April 5, at the Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 6, at Canyon Lake United Methodist Church with Rev. Eric Grinager officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Hot Springs. Memorials may be directed to the Canyon Lake United Methodist Church.
