Mabel Z. Fajardo, 85, of Rapid City, died at Golden Living Center-Black Hills, on Tuesday, November 12, 2013. Mabel was born on January 7, 1928, in Johnstown, Colorado, the youngest of 7 children. She married Pat Fajardo on April 19, 1945 in Milliken, Colorado. They had 68 years of marriage before her passing. They had 4 children. Mabel was very strong willed and determined. Her favorite saying was, "Where there's a will, there's a way." She is survived by her husband Pat, Rapid City; a daughter, Linda (Wes Boerner) Fajardo, Rapid City; a son, Bob (Mary) Fajardo, Northglenn, Colo.; 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and has 1 great-great grandchild on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Pat Fajardo, Jr. in December of 1972, a son, Fred Fajardo in September of 2011, 2 sisters and 4 brothers. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 15, at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, at the funeral home with Rev. Herb Cleveland officiating. Interment will be at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 18, at Black Hills National Cemetery.
