Maida Agnes Andrews, 82, of Rapid City died Tuesday August 9, 2016 at Clarkson Nursing Home with her daughters at her bedside.

She was born August 23, 1933 in the family home in Newell to Rudolph and Emilige (Pudamitis) Schultz. Maida grew up in Newell, graduating from Newell High School in 1951 then receiving her Associates of Secretarial Arts Degree from National College in 1953. Directly out of school she worked for Meyer Radio in Rapid City.

She met her first husband Kenas "Ken" Brenneise at a local Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Rapid City. Maida and Ken were married in Rapid City in December of 1957 and raised six girls during their 20 year marriage. Maida did the bookkeeping for the family home construction business. She married Alvin "Andy" Andrews in 1978. They owned and operated a local motel with the help of their daughters. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, writing poetry and reading and shared these gifts of love with family and friends.

Maida is survived by six daughters from her first marriage - Heather Andrews of Fairfax, VA; Holly (Andrew) McNeill of Irvine, CA; Carol Harrington of West Hartford, VT; Daena McKenzie of Aurora, CO; Robin Brenneise of Denver, CO; Kelly Commet of Rapid City, SD; and an additional daughter from her marriage with Andy - VeraKay (Henry) Johnson of Watertown, SD; a sister Agnes Keane of San Angelo, TX; and several grandchildren: Zachary and Nathaniel Mealman (Holly), Forrest and Anna Harrington (Carol), Emily and Sean McKenzie (Daena), Lindsey and Joslyn Sarshad (Robin); Jessie Carsten, Paige Kelly Shroll and Thomas Harvey (VeraKay). She is preceded in death by her parents and other siblings. The family would like to thank a few of Maida's special friends: Mavis Dugan, Jo Gill, Bill Parsons and Jim Commet.

A memorial visitation will be held Sunday, August 14, 2016 at South Canyon Lutheran Church in Rapid City beginning at 5:00 pm with a time of sharing at 6:00 pm. A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, August 15, 2016 at the same location with light refreshments afterwards.

Maida's ashes will be interned along with those of Andy's at the Hope Cemetery in Newell.
