She married Gordon Fredrick Clarke of St. James, MN in Crosby on November 16, 1952.  As partners and parents, Mardy and Gordy lived in Minneapolis and Hopkins, MN, Havre, MT, and Elko, MN.  Their lake cabin near Emily, MN was a frequent retreat, and they enjoyed domestic and international travel.

Mardy was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her sister, Janet Erickson.  She is survived by son Scott and his wife Carmen Clarke, of Florence, OR, son Ron and his wife Kristine Kennedy, of Anchorage, AK, and their daughter Jessica Sullivan of Hollywood, CA, daughter Cate Cork and her husband Roy, of Rapid City, SD, brother-in-law Duff Erickson and his wife Bettie of Rapid City, SD, Duff and Janet's son Greg and his wife Janette Erickson of Salt Lake City, UT, and their daughter Sheryl Dunne and her husband, Matt, of Gulf Breeze, FL, Ron's former wife Lesley DeKrey of Concrete, WA, and numerous friends and loved ones across the country, including those at South Canyon Lutheran Church and especially at Fountain Springs Health Care, both in Rapid City.

Mardy Clarke was gracious and gregarious, loved by many, and surrounded by family and loving friends in her final days.  She was at ease and free of pain, and left this world gently and gracefully.

At Mardy's request, there was no memorial service.  Remembrances may be made to her church or to donors' favorite charities, especially those benefiting music and musicians, higher education (particularly Montana State University-Northern in Havre), pets and other animals in need of humane treatment or adoption, wildlife, and The Mammoth Site of Hot Springs, SD.
