Rapid City – Margaret "Maggie" L. Burnison, 70, died Saturday, October 13, 2018 at the Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Margaret was born June 11, 1948 in Igloo, SD, the youngest child of Elmer and Marie (Gosselin) Burnison. Margaret graduated from Central High School in Rapid City. She went to work at Control Data, which later became Samina, making computer components. Then she worked at KOA Campground at the Reservation Center. She enjoyed her work at the Journey Museum as a volunteer during retirement.
Maggie is survived by two sisters: Betty Gall of Grand Island, NE and Emma Bedinger of Hampton, NE; many nieces and nephews: Curt Gall of Lochbuie CO, Shari (Bill) Hadenfeldt of Cairo NE, Vicki (Mike) Taylor of Louisville CO, Joyce (Allan) Miller of Wood River NE, Joanne (Todd) Johnson of Aurora NE, Don (Wanna) Gall of Lincoln NE, Bob (Georgia) Auch of Ranchester WY, Kathy (Randy) Johnson of Cripple Creek CO, and Bill (Karen) Auch of Papillion NE. Maggie is also survived by many great-nieces and great-nephews and special friends Pam and Kay.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers: James, Donald, and William; sisters-in-law: Ida and Florence; and brothers-in-law: Mel and John.
Margaret loved the Black Hills and her favorite pastime was driving through the Hills. She loved nature, animals, and reading; and Margaret was also an avid history enthusiast.
Visitation will be from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm Friday, October 19 with a Celebration of Life Service at 6:30 pm led by Rev. Herb B. Cleveland, all at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home.
