Margaret Jane Dahl, 83, of Rapid City, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 30, 2024.

A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 5, at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home, with funeral services immediately following at 1:00 p.m., officiated by Rev. Chris Baesler. Interment will take place at Mountain View Cemetery in Rapid City.

Margaret is survived by her loving husband of over 60 years, Bruce; her sons Brian (Jamie) Dahl of Spearfish, Brent (Mary) Dahl of Denver, and Eric (Julie) Dahl of Denver; her two brothers Doug (Vicky) Friez and Dave (Connie) Friez, both of Bismarck, ND; and her nine treasured grandchildren: Gabriel, Samuel, Eric, Jack, Luke, Sarah, Grace, Adrion, and Anthony.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Louise Friez.

Born on March 30, 1941, in Elgin, North Dakota, Margaret grew up in a close-knit family with her two brothers, Doug and Dave. She pursued her education in Dickinson, ND, and went on to become a schoolteacher in the Williston, ND area. It was there she met Bruce Dahl, the love of her life, and the two were married on April 4, 1964.

Margaret and Bruce's early years together were spent in Minot, ND, Williston, ND, Baker, MT, and Glasgow, MT, where they welcomed their three sons—Brian, Brent, and Eric. During these years, Margaret devoted herself to raising their family, making lifelong friendships along the way. In 1978, they made their home in Rapid City, where they became active members of the community and continued to build a life surrounded by family and friends.

Margaret will be remembered for her warmth, her unwavering dedication to her family and the joy she found in spending time with loved ones. Her kindness and generosity touched many, and her legacy lives on through those whose lives she enriched.
