RAPID CITY--Margaret Angela Jung, 93, died at Clarkson-Mountain View Guest Home on Friday, January 1, 2009. Margaret Angela Jung was born on March 3, 1916 in Emery, S.D. to John Bert Jung and Katherine Ferschweiler Jung. Her mother Kate died when she was 3 years old. Her Aunt Louise Belmont came to help raise her for the next years until her step- mother Tracy came into her life. She lived in Emery, where she attended St. Martin's Grade School and graduated from Emery High School in 1934. Following High School she worked at Marty Mission, where she managed the grocery store. In 1945, when opportunity knocked, she purchased and operated VJ Market grocery store in Ethan, SD for the next 35 years. In 1980 she retired to Rapid City to be with her ailing brother Boots and his family. Throughout her life Margaret was active in her church. In Ethan, she cared for the rectory and church with her good friend Julia Combs. In Rapid City, she was a devoted and faithful member of the Blessed Sacrament Church and active in the Holy Elders and Twelve Apostles. She was a prayerful person and prayed the rosary with her daily prayers throughout her life. Margaret had a special gift of loving. She especially loved her two nephews and three nieces, Boots and Jean's kids. She loved being a great aunt and grandma to all her family. Everyone who knew her could see her devotion to God and family. She was a wonderful friend and neighbor to many people. She loved to play bridge and be with her faithful bridge group. She spent many days in her life knitting and crocheting hundreds of keepsakes for those she loved. She enjoyed visiting with neighbors, going out to eat, baking her specialties (divinity and peanut brittle), fishing and picnicking, traveling with friends, and following her favorite sports baseball and basketball. She lived a full life and attributed her long life to her faith, exercise, daily walks and wonderful medical care from everyone who cared for her. She is survived by 5 nieces and nephews: Patrick Jung (Connie) of Omaha, NE, Mary Miller of Rapid City (her God daughter), Julieann Mousel (Steve) of Rapid City, Drs. Sheliah Roehmholdt (John) of Williamsville, NY. and Dr. Michael Jung (Peggy) of Sioux City, IA. Margaret also is survived by 14 great nieces and great nephews: Mike Jung, Terese Jung, Ryan Miller, Kim Kennedy, Tom Mousel, Joe Mousel David Mousel, Peter Roehmholdt, Max Roehmholdt, Julie Roehmholdt, Matt Jung, Dave Jung, John Jung and Patrick Jung. She had 4 great great nieces and nephew: Kate Kennedy, Grace Kennedy, Ellie Jung, and Griffin Mousel. She was preceded in death by her parents, step mother Tracy, brother Arthur, brother Nick (Bunger), sister Marcella, brother Raymond (Ping), brother Norbert (Boots), and a second sister Julia Combs. Visitation will be on Sunday, Jan 3, from 4 pm until 5 pm. with a Christian wake service at 5 pm at Blessed Sacrament Church. Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 10:00 am on Monday Jan. 4, at Blessed Sacrament Church, with Rev. Dan Juelfs presiding. Rosary and visitation will be at 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 4, at St. Martin's Church in Emery. Burial will be at 10 am on Tuesday, Jan. 5, at St. Martin's Cemetery in Emery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Blessed Sacrament Church.
