Margaret Patricia (Olivia) Olson, age 96, of Rapid City, died November 25, 2020 at Clarkson Mountain View Health Care Facility.

Margaret (Marge) was born in Brooklyn, New York and joined the Army Air Corps in 1943. Eventually, she was assigned to Rapid City Army Corps, SD in 1944. While stationed at Rapid City Army Corps, she met her future husband Carl E. Olson, who was assigned to the Rapid City Air Force, on a blind date. Marge and Carl were married on June 1 ^st , 1945 where they had to live in separate barracks on the Rapid City Air Base.

Marge was kind, honest, and a bit feisty. Marge enjoyed volunteering at the YMCA, swimming, cross-country skiing, and playing nickel slots in Deadwood. Marge was a wonderful seamstress and made her three daughter's wedding dresses and her swimsuits. Marge was a great cook and at Christmas time baked lots of cookies and breads to give to neighbors as well as the postman and the milkman (back in the day).

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Carl.  She is survived by her daughters, Anne LeChette, Nancy Newman, and Phyllis Andrews, son Robert Olson and daughter-in-law Mary Olson; and five grandchildren, and several great grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.

Marge was interned next to her beloved Carl on 24 September 2021 at the Black Hills National Cemetery.
