Obituary

Margaret E. Seaver Singrey, 95, of Rapid City, died Friday, October 27, 2017 at Fountain Springs Healthcare.

She was born July 26, 1922 on the family farm in Ziebach County near Faith to Raymond and Elizabeth (Law) Rider.

She grew up during the "dirty thirties" and later taught school at Gjerde Country School and also at Garden City where she met Louis Seaver. They were married on October 26, 1945. In 1956 Margaret and Louie moved to Rapid City where they raised three children. Margaret retired as the manager of foodservice at Central High School.

In 1998, Margaret married Vernon Singrey and she moved to the farm in rural Hazel, SD. In 2015 Margaret moved to Fountain Springs Healthcare.

Margaret was an active member of the community, in both Rapid City and Hazel. Margaret had an infectious smile which would cast a shining light on the darkest of days. She was the truest of friends to all who knew her. Her wit and kindness will live on in the lives of those who loved her.

She is survived by her children; Ed (Daviette) Seaver, Marlou Seaver, daughter-in-law, Rhonda Seaver, step-children; Harold (Renae) Singrey and Marlene (Wayne) Schiefelbein, 15 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren, a sister, Callie (Leif) Eidsness and a sister-in-law, Marlene (Rider) Nelson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
