Margret Ann Cole, 77, of Rapid City, passed away on January 28, 2015 at a local nursing home. Margie was born September 2, 1937, in Rapid City, to Ernest and Alice Johnson. When Margie was 13, she and her sister, Polly, entered a talent contest and the girls sang "Mockingbird Hill" on KOTA radio. They tied for first place in the contest and it was the beginning of a life-long love of music. Margie and Polly went on to appear together in the "Hoedown Jamboree" shown on KOTA TV. Margie married the love of her life, Doyle Cole in 1953. Together they had four children, Philip, Michael, Robert and Lori. Margie was an avid reader and she never left the house without a book in her purse. She was also a very talented seamstress and in her spare time she was always at her sewing machine making magic. Margie is survived by her husband of 61 years, Doyle; 2 sons, Philip (Connie) Doyle and Robert (Maggie) Doyle and her daughter, Lori (Randy) Peterson, all of Rapid City; a brother, Stan Johnson; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister and a son, Michael Cole in 2014. A Christian wake service with rosary recitation will be held at 5:30 pm on Thursday, March 12, at the Immaculate Conception Church. Requiem mass will be offered at 10 am on Saturday, March 14, at the Immaculate Conception Church with the Rev. Christopher Hathaway as the celebrant. Inurnment will be at 10 am on Monday, March 16, at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
