Rapid City Marianne K. Lorenzen, 59, Rapid City, died Friday, December 17, 2010 at the Rapid City Regional Hospital, Rapid City from heart disease and respiratory failure. Marianne Kay Lorenzen was born November 8, 1951 at Pipestone, Minnesota to Eldo and Viola [Hawes] Lorenzen. In 1962 the family moved to Rapid City where she graduated from Central High School and later from Western Dakota Tech. Marianne thoroughly enjoyed the 10 years spent as a truck driver with UTI and Midwest Coast. She was currently employed in the circulation department of the Rapid City Journal. She was an avid baseball fan and traveled to various stadiums including Yankee Stadium. Marianne was a great cook and loved to bake for family and friends. Her free spirit and infectious laugh will be missed by all who knew her. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Survivors include one son: Paul [Selena] Wiley of San Francisco, CA; two grandchildren: Noah and Naomi Wiley of San Francisco, CA; four brothers: Don [Judy] Lorenzen of Wilmont, MN, Jerry Lorenzen and Duane Lorenzen both of Rapid City, and Dennis [Pat] Lorenzen of Box Elder; one sister: Susan [Norm] Stahl of Brandon, SD; one godson: Joseph Hinman of Rawlings, Wyoming; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister in law: Jean Lorenzen. Visitation will be Monday, December 20 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home, 2700 Jackson Boulevard. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at Zion Lutheran Church, 4550 South Highway 16 with Rev. David Schwan officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery.
