Marjorie Wehrkamp, 85, Rapid City, died at Meadowbrook Golden Living Center Wednesday, June 18, 2008. She was born June 22, 1922 at Wessington Springs, S. Dak., the daughter of J. Irving and Marie(Peterson)Creighton. Marjorie attended high school in Wessington Springs and following graduation from high school she worked in Huron. She married Lloyd Wehrkamp May 5, 1943 in Alliance, Nebraska. After Lloyd returned from military service during World War II they moved to White, S. Dak. where they owned and operated a movie theater until moving to Rapid City in 1949. Marjorie worked as a account clerk for the S. Dak. Dept. of Transportation and as a bookeeper for an Amoco Service Station before retiring. Survivors include two sons, Larry Wehrkamp, MD and his wife Janine, RapidCity and Gary Wehrkamp, Black Hawk, a sister, Evie Oney and her husband Willy, Rapid City, sister-in-laws. Donna Arnaud, Rapid City and Lola Klinkel, Nancy Anderson and Jeanne Colwell, all of DeSmet, S. Dak. eleven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, a brother and a daughter, Pam Mason. Visitation will be from 4 PM until 6 PM Sunday at the Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home. Services will be at 11:00 AM Monday at the funeral home with Rev. Jeff Hayes officiating. Interment will be at the Black Hills National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for Hospice of the Hills.
