Memorial Service for Mark and Nancy Anderson RAPID CITY - Mark Anderson, 60, Rapid City died Thursday, October 14, 2010 at the Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center at Ft. Meade, SD. Nancy Anderson, 51, died May 5, 2009 at Mountain View Regional Medical Center at Las Cruces, New Mexico. Mark was born October 26, 1949 at Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Phillip Harvey and Virginia Mae [Bryan] Anderson. He attended South High School at Bakersfield, CA graduating in 1968. He then entered the United States Marine Corps in September of 1968 and served in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in September of 1972. He then attended Bakersfield Community College majoring in History. He worked at various jobs with the major part pertaining to steel painting of off-shore oil rigs and farm machinery with Frito Lay. In 1992 he met Nancy Jean Hoppi and they were married April 1, 2008. Nancy died suddenly on May 5, 2009 at Las Cruces, New Mexico. Mark was a life-member of the VFW, American Legion, and the Disabled American Veterans. Mark is survived by two sons: Michael Todd Anderson of Ventura, CA and William Jared Levi Anderson of Ventura, CA; one daughter: Heather Marie Anderson of Ventura, CA; three brothers: Jan Phillip Anderson of Palm Springs, CA, David Brian Anderson of Rapid City, and Keith Wesley Anderson of Bakersfield, CA; one sister: Karron Marie Cook of Tarzana, CA and six grandsons. Nancy is survived by one son: Guy Eugene Wadell of Rapid City. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and one brother: William Jeffrey Anderson. Memorial Services for Mark and his wife: Nancy Jean Anderson will be held Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at 10:00 am at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home with Chaplain [Ret.] Herb B. Cleveland officiating. Burial of their cremains will be held at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis with Military Honors for Mark provided by Rushmore VFW Post #1273 and the South Dakota National Guard.
