Mark Douglas Bennett passed away Sunday, the 8th of April, 2018, surrounded by his loving family.
A memorial service in his honor will be held at 3:00 pm Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Osheim and Schmidt Funeral Home with Colonel Army [Ret] Chaplain Herb B. Cleveland officiating.
Mark was born April 22, 1957 in Winner, South Dakota. His family later moved to Edgemont where he attended high school before joining the Army. Later he worked in the oil fields in Wyoming before starting his own trucking business. The part of work he enjoyed the most was hauling mobile catering equipment to wildland fires and keeping all the equipment operating in remote locations.
Mark was a man devoted to family and a great outdoorsman. He loved hunting, camping, water skiing, motorcycles, and spending time with his family. An avid sports fan, he even found time for coaching Little League.
He is survived by his wife, Patty, son Derek (Danielle), daughters Miranda (Gabriel) Sibley, Jazmine Bennett, Jami (Christopher Talley), Devon Murry, and 10 grandchildren. Brothers Jim (Mary) Fechner, Gene (Sharon), Thomas (Jami), Jerry (Jayne) and sister Trish (Louis) Lora.
He was preceded in death by his father William T Bennett, brother David L Bennett, mother Pauline Bennett, and second mom Evelyn Bennett.
