Listen to Obituary

Marlana Nichole (Lee) Harrison passed away Thursday, July 23, 2026, in Rapid City, South Dakota.

Marlana was born April 5, 1990, at Hahn Air Base in Germany to Lucky and Irene (Englehart) Lee. After returning to the United States, her family lived briefly in Cheyenne, Wyoming, before settling in Rapid City.

From an early age, Marlana had a deep love for animals. She treasured time spent at her grandparents’ ranch and was active in 4-H and FFA, competing with her horse, Foxy Autumn, and her dogs, Breezy and Bailey. She earned numerous awards, but the friendships she formed and lessons she learned mattered most to her.

Marlana graduated with honors from Rapid City Central High School in 2008. She later attended South Dakota State University, earning a degree in Animal Science with minors in Equine Science and Agricultural Business in 2012. Throughout her career, she used her many talents to help others and formed deep, lasting friendships. She worked at Black Hills Federal Credit Union, where she had recently earned a promotion.

Marlana met her husband, Jared Harrison, in 2017 while he was home on leave in Rapid City. They soon reunited in Arizona, where they fell in love. Marlana later moved to San Diego to build a life with Jared, and they returned to Rapid City together in 2022. Marlana proposed that same year, and they married in 2023.

Together, they shared nearly a decade of love and adventure, traveling from San Diego, California, to Camden, Delaware, and many places in between. They bought a house and made it a home here in Rapid Valley with their beloved dogs, Kiwi and Ivy.

Marlana will be remembered for her extraordinary kindness, warmth, and gentle heart. She loved her family, friends, and animals deeply.

Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Jared Harrison; parents, Lucky and Irene Lee; brothers, Levi (Krysten) Lee and the Rev. Joshua Lee; parents-in-law, J.J. and Lori Harrison; sister-in-law, Shasta (Gonzalo); brother-in-law, James Harrison; uncles and aunts, numerous cousins, extended family members, and friends; and her beloved dogs, Ivy and Kiwi and horse Autumn.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Lloyd and Bernadene Lee and Leon and Lela Mae Englehart, as well as numerous aunts and uncles.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that offerings be made for Mass intentions in memory of Marlana.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Thursday, July 30 at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home and a Eulogy and Vigil Service will begin at 7:00 pm.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am on Friday, July 31 at Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help. Burial Service at 1:30 pm at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, SD.
