IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marlon James
Leneaugh, Jr.
July 3, 1982 – January 31, 2020
RAPID CITY - Marlon "Buddy" James Leneaugh Jr, Can Wokaga Wica , age 37, passed away January 31, 2020 with loved ones surrounding him. He was born in Rosebud, SD July 3, 1982 to Marlon and Rhonda Leneaugh. Bud is an enrolled member of the Sicangu Lakota Nation and was raised in Mission, SD. As a child and throughout his life he is remembered as a dreamer full of love, laughter and curiosity. He received his GED and later went on to study CADD Vocational Programs but his heart and hands were made for carpentry. Time and time again he returned to his work as a carpenter and is known to many as a master carpenter which is a generational tradition among the Leneaugh's. His work ethic was that anything worth doing was worth doing exceptionally well.
Bud had the honor of becoming a father in his early years to Jarrett James, 18 and Jayda Dawn, 16 and later in his life was blessed to be part of raising his hunka daughter Ariel Shouldis with his loving girlfriend Kendra. Bud's life is a celebration of survival in many ways and proof that it does get better as we go. Bud's love for family was boundless evidenced by his care for his dad when he became terminally ill with cancer, and for the past year being a source of unwavering support to his family. Losing our dad last year was especially hard on Bud, he experienced his own sadness daily but that did not keep him from being a protector, peacemaker, loving son and beloved brother to the fullest. He was born to be a buddy and he lived his life that way, good times, good deals, and good work done by a good friend.
A kind soul has left us too soon but is being welcomed home to the spirit world by his hero Marlon Leneaugh Sr. Bud is survived by his children: Jarrett Leneaugh, Jayda Leneaugh, Ariel Shouldis; mother, Rhonda Leneaugh; sisters: Blaise Reagle (Corey), Jessi Leneaugh; brother, Travis "Sonny" Goodstar; girlfriend, Kendra Shouldis; nephews: Peyton Reagle, Cruz Reagle; niece, Shaya Reagle; grandmother, Frances (Thin Elk) Audiss; and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Deacon Marlon Leneaugh Sr.; his grandparents Jess and Margaret Leneaugh, Dallas Chief Eagle Sr. and Shirley Bordeaux, uncles, aunts and cousins.
