Marlys Jean Clutter, 81, Rapid City, died at her home, Tuesday, February 10, 2015. Marlys was "Queen of Dam Near Everything", as per Marlys. She was born on Dec. 4, 1933, in Kimball, SD, the daughter of Harold and Florence(Clements) Lantz. She grew up on a farm near Pukwana, SD and graduated from Pukwana High School. Marlys then became a school teacher in a country school near Pukwana. Marlys married Bill Clutter in March of 1952. They were married for thirty-three years, living in Rapid City and Black Hawk. She loved sports, parties, bowling, playing games and cards. She was employed for a time at Freed's Fine Furniture and worked for thirty years for Jon Ziegler at Ziegler Building. She thought of Jon as a son. Survivors include four children, Terry Clutter, of Midland, Texas, Ron Clutter, of Guthrie, Oklahoma and Pam Keller and Linda Cone, both of Rapid City; six sisters, Marlene Simmons, of Virginia, Kay Fletcher, of Wisconsin, Nancy Hrabe, of Montana and Sharon Smith and Vickie Dykes, both of Chamberlain, SD and Carol Johnson, Rhode Island; a brother, H.L. Lantz, Jr., of Pukwana; fifteen grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Doug and a brother Clifford Lantz. Visitation will be from 5 PM until 7 PM, Friday, Feb. 13, at the Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home. Services will be at 1:30 PM, on Saturday, Feb. 14, at the Calvary Lutheran Church with Rev. David Piper officiating. Interment will be at the Mt. View Cemetery.
