Blairsville, GA – Marvin Mikkelson, 91, formerly of Rapid City, died Saturday, September 30, 2023 at the Union General Hospital in Blairsville, GA.

Marvin Clare Mikkelson was born November 27, 1931 in Volin, SD to Arthur and Martha (Vognild) Mikkelson. He attended school and graduated from high school and then entered the United States Air Force in January of 1951 and was honorably discharged in September of 1954. He married Dorothy Frances Iaconis on December 11, 1953  at St. Johns, New Foundland. They lived in Rapid City, SD where Marvin was a Route Salesman. They moved to Blairsville, GA earlier in 2023 to be closer to their daughter and family; Kathy and Brad Wolf.

Survivors include his wife: Dorothy Mikkelson of Blairsville, GA; four daughters: Lynn Andrews of Panama City, FL, Leann Loiseau of Watertown, SD, Kathryn Wolf of Blairsville, GA, and Laurie Cartney of Myrtle Beach, SC; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; one brother: Gaylord Mikkelson of Brevard, NC; and two sisters: Arlene Johnson of Sioux Falls, SD and Dorothy Sheldon of Brevard, NC.

Funeral services will be held at a later date.

Burial will be held at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, SD.
