After graduating, she practiced as a nurse in Ann Arbor, MI and Albuquerque, NM before returning to Minneapolis. She was an active member of South Canyon Lutheran Church and PEO Chapter BR. Additionally, she volunteered at the Cornerstone Mission and the Chapel in the Hills. Mary and her husband also took great pleasure in hosting international students from the School of Mines.
