Obituary

Rapid City – On the morning of Monday, December 14, 2015, Mary A. Jankord, 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Mary was born on March 22, 1930 in Timberlake to Michael Klein and Helen [Leintz]. She graduated from Timberlake High School in 1948 and later married Bernard Jensen. They moved to Rapid City in 1959 and had three daughters together, Judith, Angeline, and Debra. In 1969, Mary had a second marriage to Arthur Jankord, with whom she had one daughter, Michele. Mary worked for Black Hills Power and Light, retiring after 25 years of service. Her hobbies included crocheting, playing card games, and solving puzzle books. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and supporting them at their sporting events and activities.

Mary is survived by her children: Angeline (Rob) Helton of Gillette, WY, Debra (Paul) Jankord of Pukwana, Michele (Troy) Anderson of Rapid City; her sister-in-law: Marie Klein of Rapid City; her step-children: Richard [Sally) Jankord  of Philip, Gordon (Francis) Jankord of Watertown, Kenneth (Ladel) Jankord of Black Hawk, Jeff Jankord of Watertown, Dorothy (Harold) Peterson of Aberdeen, WA, Karen (John) Liek of Spokane, WA, Julie McIntyre of St. Peters, MO and Angela (Stewart) Conley of Watertown; her sisters: Marcella "Honey" Wilson of Austin, TX and Lillian "Tootie" Aldrich of Centerville, IA; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Arthur, daughter Judith, sister Agatha Kirk, and brother Paul Klein.

Visitation from 5-7 pm Wednesday, December 16 at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home, 2700 Jackson Boulevard  with a Wake and Rosary Service at 7 pm.

Christian Funeral Mass will be 10 am Thursday, December 17 at Cathedral of our Lady of Perpetual Help, 530 Cathedral Drive with Rev. Michel Mulloy officiating.

Burial to be at Pine Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Rapid City under the direction of Osheim & Schmidt Funeral home.
